For First-Time Visitors

Will it hurt?

We use advanced local anaesthesia techniques so most procedures are virtually pain-free. Our team is trained to ensure you feel comfortable at every step. If you experience any discomfort, just let us know β€” your comfort is our priority.

How long will my appointment take?

Routine checkups and cleanings typically take 30–45 minutes. More complex treatments such as implants, root canals, or orthodontic fittings may take longer. We'll give you a clear time estimate at the time of booking so you can plan your day.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring any previous dental records, X-rays, or treatment reports if you have them β€” they help us understand your dental history and plan your care better. If you're on any medications, it's helpful to carry that information too.

Do you treat children?

Yes! We have a dedicated child-friendly environment designed to make dental visits fun and stress-free for your little ones. Our team is specially trained in pediatric dentistry to ensure a positive first dental experience.

About Treatments

How many sittings does a root canal take?

With our modern rotary endodontic technique, most root canals can be completed in just 1–2 sittings. The exact number depends on the complexity of the case and the condition of the tooth. We'll explain the expected number of visits during your consultation.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, absolutely. Our professional in-chair whitening treatments are safe for your enamel and far more effective than over-the-counter products. We use clinically approved whitening agents in carefully controlled concentrations to ensure both safety and excellent results.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental implants can last a lifetime. The titanium implant fuses with your jawbone and becomes a permanent part of your anatomy. The crown on top typically lasts 15–25 years depending on wear and oral hygiene.

Do you offer EMI / payment plans?

We understand that dental treatments can be a significant investment. Please contact us directly to discuss flexible payment options that suit your needs. We'll do our best to make quality dental care accessible to you.

Orthodontics (Braces)

At what age should I consider braces for my child?

The ideal time is between 10–14 years, when most permanent teeth have erupted and the jaw is still growing β€” making treatment faster and more effective. However, adults can benefit from orthodontic treatment at any age. We offer a free orthodontic assessment to help you decide the right time.

Dental Insurance

Does my health insurance cover dental treatment?

Yes β€” certain health insurance plans in India cover dental treatments. Tata AIG's MediCare health insurance plan covers OPD dental procedures including root canal treatments, tooth fillings, and extractions. Note that OPD dental coverage typically has a 2-year waiting period. We recommend checking your policy documents or calling your insurer to confirm dental coverage. Our team can help guide you through the process.

Pain & Fear

Is dentistry painful? I'm scared of dental procedures.

We hear this from almost every first-time patient β€” and we completely understand. The truth is, modern dentistry has come a very long way. With advanced local anaesthesia, most procedures are completely painless. You'll feel pressure and movement, but not pain. At ToothFix, we take dental anxiety seriously. We take time to explain every step before we begin, and we always go at your pace. Many of our most anxious patients have told us afterwards that the anticipation was far worse than the procedure itself. You are always in control β€” if you need a break, just raise your hand. Our goal is to make every visit as comfortable as possible.

Post-Treatment Care

What should I do after a tooth extraction?

After an extraction: Bite firmly on the gauze pad for 30 minutes to control bleeding. Avoid hot food and drinks for at least 24 hours. Do not rinse your mouth forcefully for 24 hours β€” this can dislodge the blood clot. Take prescribed medicines as directed. Apply a cold compress (ice pack wrapped in cloth) on the cheek to reduce swelling. Rest and avoid strenuous activity on the day of the procedure.

How do I care for my braces?

Caring for braces properly will ensure faster, better results: Brush your teeth after every meal β€” food easily gets trapped around brackets. Use a floss threader or interdental brush to clean between teeth. Avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods (caramel, nuts, hard candy) that can damage brackets. Attend all scheduled adjustment appointments. If a bracket or wire becomes loose, contact us promptly.

How often should I visit the dentist?

We recommend visiting every 6 months for a routine checkup and professional cleaning. Regular visits help us catch small issues before they become bigger (and more expensive) problems. Patients with specific conditions like gum disease or braces may need more frequent visits β€” your dentist will advise you accordingly.

Dental Hygiene How-To (with Videos)

How do I brush my teeth correctly?

Use a soft-bristled toothbrush. Hold it at a 45Β° angle to your gums. Use gentle circular motions β€” don't scrub. Brush for 2 minutes, twice a day. Don't forget your tongue! Change your toothbrush every 3 months.

How do I floss correctly?

Use about 18 inches of floss. Wind most around your middle fingers. Hold 1–2 inches tightly and slide it gently between teeth. Curve it around each tooth in a C-shape and slide under the gumline. Use a fresh section for each tooth.

How do I use a water flosser?

Fill the reservoir with lukewarm water. Start on lowest pressure. Lean over the sink. Place the tip in your mouth, close lips partially. Aim at the gumline and between teeth. Move along slowly. Use daily, ideally before brushing.
